ISO 14126 In-Plane Compressive test fixture of Fiber-Reinforced Plastic Composites; ISO 14126 describes a method for determining the in-plane compression properties of fiber-reinforced plastic composites.
UnitedTest Supply the suitable testing machine and ISO 14126 In-Plane Compressive test fixture.
This standard describes two different methods for evaluating performance:
Method 1: Provide the shear load of the specimen
Method 2: Provide end loading or mixed loading of the sample
Ultimately, these two methods require two different testing fixtures.
The more common method between the two is method 1, which uses Celanese type fixtures. In addition, in both methods, the gauge length of the specimen is completely unsupported.
For Method 1 testing, the specimen is supported in a fixture and a hardened steel compression anvil is used along its long axis at a constant rate
Displacement until the specimen fractures.
Due to the high forces typically recorded during this testing period, ParsRos recommends using a dual column electromechanical testing system.
Accurate strain measurement is required for measuring compressive modulus or compressive failure strain.
Therefore, suitable extensometers or adhesive resistance strain gauges are required to measure axial strain throughout the entire testing process.
